Intensity + Consistency

How many people do you know that start a new workout program full of fire and ready to change the world only to burn out within a month or two?  It is normal and natural to be excited about something new.  Here are a few tips to help keep you on the path to improvement.

  • Consistency beats intensity every time.  Physical adaptation takes time.  Very intense stimuli lead to a quick peak, but a quick regression to the baseline.  Consistency leads to long-term adaptation

  • Keep workloads manageable.  Not every training session needs to be a new personal best.

  • Your self-worth is not tied to your workout.  Some sessions are awesome.  Some aren’t.  That doesn’t change you who are.
